Noblesville Schools: Preparing Students for College, Careers, and LifeĀ

Noblesville Schools has partnered with the City of Noblesville, Noblesville Chamber of Commerce, and local businesses to support the economic needs of Noblesville and provide real-world skills to prepare our students for success in college, careers, and life.

  • Noblesville Schools has the state’s largest high school internship and work-based learning program.
  • Noblesville High School career fairs and job boards connect local businesses with student employees.

Leaders in Workforce Development

Noblesville Schools continues to enhance student opportunities in career and technical education.

  • There are currently 3,300 career technology class enrollments at NHS and 34 different career pathways students can explore, including manufacturing, architecture, IT, and more.
  • The NHS internship program continues to be the largest program of its kind in the state, with over 250 students engaged in internship and work-based learning.
  • 177 students are enrolled in partnership programs at Associated Builders and Contractors, The Pursuit Institute, and Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Noblesville Schools even offers a special vocational/internship program for students with disabilities that offers different pathways and levels of support to ensure all our students can gain real-world experience for purposeful and independent lives while working toward their diploma.

Recent Workforce Development Enhancements

  • New In-house career pathways coming next year include welding, construction trades, fashion and textiles, hospitality management, and exercise science.
  • Noblesville High School is hosting a first-of-its-kind aviation program at NHS, which serves students from public schools throughout Hamilton County.Ā

Programs for Every Path

Noblesville Schoolsā€™ dedication to excellence is reflected in its extensive educational programs and partnerships. These programs offer creative gateways to real-world success. Through specialized learning pathways and strong community ties, Noblesville Schools is committed to giving students a head start in their career paths.

These programs include:

  • Career and Technical Education (CTE)
  • Indiana College Core (ICC) Partnership with IU Kokomo
  • Over 250 off-campus internships, cadet teaching programs, and work-based learning opportunities with over 150 community partners

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Noblesville High School is expanding its building to house new classrooms including Engineering, Robotics/Automation, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Biomedical Science, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses. Also included in the expansion is a 5,000-square-foot construction lab and welding facility to give students hands-on experience in construction trades. This expansion and the investment in these programs further illustrate Noblesville Schoolsā€™ commitment to our students and their future college and career success.

Noblesville High School currently offers 17 career pathway sequences. Their partnership with The Pursuit Institute (TPI) further expands our students’ opportunities for career training and exploration with access to more specialized CTE pathway sequences through connections with other Hamilton County schools and community partners. NHS empowers students to pursue fields that align with their goals and interests and is committed to ensuring they are prepared for post-secondary opportunities in the classroom and in the industry.

With CTE and partnerships, students gain:

  • Real-world learning through internships, community projects, and hands-on experiences.Ā
  • Valuable industry certifications, such as those for cosmetology, automotive service excellence, clinical medical assistant, pharmacy technician, construction trades, and more.
  • Career connections reinforce the critical link between education and the workforce.

Indiana College Core (ICC)

The ICC partnership with Indiana University- Kokomo allows our high school students to earn 30 credit hours of general education coursework that is transferable to any public four-year college, as well as some private colleges. Not only does this initiative help students save time, but it also significantly reduces the cost of higher education for families.

Key benefits of the ICC partnership include:

  • Dual credit OR Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer students the opportunity to take college-level courses that count towards earning their high school diploma while also earning college credits. This gives students a head start as they enter college.
  • Cost savings for students and families, reducing the financial burden of higher education and giving students an edge as they continue their academic journey.

Community Partnerships: Internships, Cadet Teaching + Work-Based Learning

Noblesville High School offers over 250 off-campus internships, cadet teaching, and work-based learning opportunities with over 150 community partners. These experiences provide students with a taste of the real world and the opportunity to see firsthand if this profession is the best fit for their career path.

Benefits of internships, cadet teaching, and work-based learning:

  • Students are exposed to the work expectations and daily routines of various industries.
  • Community partnerships and work relationships assist in creating professional connections for students to build networks that can lead to future job opportunities.
  • Internships teach life skills such as responsibility, time management, and workplace etiquette.

Commitment to Excellence

By investing in our studentsā€™ learning environment and offering pathways to higher education and real-world job experiences, Noblesville Schools is committed to building the leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers of tomorrow.
