At tonight’s Noblesville Plan Commission meeting, the Plan Commission will be considering adopting an amendment that would add a proposed 6.4 acre area into the Noblesville Parks Master Plan, which is a part of the Noblesville Comprehensive Master Plan. This 6.4 acre area is located between Logan Street, Conner Street, and Cicero Road (State Road 19).
The city is in the process of making offers to acquire this area of land. Proposed plans for this community park include an amphitheater, trails, public event space, shelters, a parking area constructed of pervious pavement, and more.
“We are very excited at the possibility of turning this area into Noblesville’s newest park. Since it is located within the floodplain, a park would be the perfect use for the land and would help promote investment on the west side of the White River,” said Mayor John Ditslear. “This continues our efforts, such as the partnered construction of the Riverwalk, to highlight the river and extend the downtown area to the west,” he added.
Pending approval by the Board of Public Works and the Common Council, Ratio Architects and Butler, Fairman & Seufert will be hired to create renderings and plans for the proposed park.
The Plan Commission will vote tonight on whether or not to recommend approving the adoption of this area into the Noblesville Parks Master Plan. The item will then be introduced and presented to the Common Council at their meeting on Tuesday, August 27.
